As some of you may know, this past month my hubby and I celebrated another trip around the sun. Wow! That was a fast trip! Tell me, is it just me, or does each year seem to go by faster than the prior one? It's like one day you wake up and it's "Whoa--- how did I get this old?"
So anyway, this year's birthday had a special notation. This birthday was the one Uncle Sam said SHOULD have been my FULL retirement birthday. Note: I said "SHOULD" and "FULL".
I know, I know - I'm already retired! I took that leap a couple of years ago, when I wildly tore a few extra pages/years off the calender, and said, "Later gators. I'm outta here!" Yep! It's been one of the best decisions I ever made! It's been absolutely glorious!
But what do ya think? With "FULL" retirement should come "FULL" benefits, right? I've considered the past few years as the "honeymoon" phase, and while they've been totally enchanting, life is too short. Maybe we could up the ante a bit, ya think?
Now, I'm not talking about parachuting out of a plane, or running a marathon, or anything stupid like that. Heck no! I wanna live a few more years! How about just a little something to spice it up a bit?
Well, after much thought, here goes. HONEY, HERE'S THE REST OF THE RULES!
1) As my cooking has improved, your critiques have increased. So note: From now on, meals will be served once per day. The rest of the day, fend for yourself!
2) Routine is always good. The evening meal will be served promptly at 6:30 p.m. or whenever the Embers delivers.
3) Once again, dirty dishes will be placed in the sink or dishwasher. (I've been working on this one for over 40 years!)
4) Keeping the bathroom well supplied makes us both happy. The toilet paper is still stored under the sink and it's installation is easy peasy. Go ahead and give it a try!
5) Tuesdays are "Diane" day. Don't miss me too much while I'm gone!
And last but not least---
6) There's a sunrise and a sunset every single day. Let's not miss so many of them!
Cheers to our future years - of "FULL" retirement!
